APS Earns Patent for Proprietary Mail Piece Tracking Technology
Allison Payment Systems, LLC, a leading provider in print and electronic based communications was recently awarded a patent on the internally developed APS TrayTrak software used in their production process. The software was developed in order to provide real time data of production status down to the individual mail piece level as well as to improve envelope integrity in the production process. The purpose is to automate the tracking of each and every document as it flows through the production facility.
APS TrayTrak is featured in all APS production facilities and is utilized by external partners at our overflow and disaster recovery facilities and postal processing center. The data from this software is used for reporting purposes to update customers on the progress of their documents as well as analysis for production improvements. "The information generated out of the APS TrayTrak software has greatly improved the way we analyze our quality program and improved our service level reporting," says Dale Eland, VP Manufacturing.
Developed initially to track insertion equipment performance, APS TrayTrak has expanded into a complete, equipment independent, work flow tracking software. "We are very proud of our technology group for their efforts in developing the APS TrayTrak system which have resulted in numerous operating improvements that benefit APS' customers through greater efficiencies in the production process. We are extremely pleased to have been awarded this patent which underscores the APS commitment to technology leadership," says JP Thomas, President and CEO.
